The Sounds of Battle
Description
Description
Enthroned at a young age, Prince Chang’an of the State of Zhao rules with the assistance of his sister Princess Cuibi. The State of Qi takes advantage of the fragile situation and invades its borders. Zhao seeks help from the State of Qin. At the time, Ma Xingtian, a senior official of Zhao has a son Rulong and a godson Qingyun, both of whom are distinguished courageous martial talents. Qingyun has a natural born lofty character; he has great aspirations. Princess Cuibi is very fond of Qingyun and appoints him as the General of the Agile Cavalry. Rulong joins Qingyun to settle the national emergency. After the Qi army retreats, King Zhuang of the superior State of Qin forces Princess Cuibi to become his bride. Placing her country first, Princess Cuibi pretends to agree to the proposal and demotes Qingyun thrice at the Pavilion of Elites, ordering him to send her off for the wedding. On the day that the Princess leaves for Qin, she confesses to Qingyun about the reasons behind her decision, hoping to re-invoke his fire to avenge how Qin humiliated Zhao. The battle between Qin and Zhao starts. Qingyun does not get the upper hand on the frontline. Thanks to the motivation of the Princess, Qingyun eventually defeats the Qin army and unites with Cuibi as a couple.
