It is a non-profit making organization, set up in 1977 and funded mainly by members\u2019 fees and donations.<br \/>\nWe believe the Teachers\u2019 Chorus is unique. The Chorus\u2019 repertoire, selected to give pleasure to both discriminating music-lovers and family audiences, includes both Chinese and foreign songs, a fact which reflects the emphasis on language tuition of Hong Kong\u2019s teaching profession. Our membership includes non-teachers, so that the Chorus fosters communication between the teaching profession and the general public. To encourage the young, we charge half-price membership fees for full-time students.<\/p>\n<p>The mission of the Chorus is to promote musical education, and to hold events that cultivate the enjoyment of popular songs.
