The global pandemic has brought unprecedented and unpredictable challenges to all in 2020 and 2021, and we find our isolated lives connected with one another’s on virtual grids. Scattered in different countries, our learning and exchange have been mediated through many little frames. Through digital screens, we exchange ideas, images and insights; we take inspiration from the unique learning environment. We are thousand miles apart but connected; we are bound by boxes but not limited in experience; we create together, under the uncertainty of the future.

This year, 19 artists from MA in Visual Arts will present in their Graduation Show “On the Grid”. Artists are largely inspired by their own daily life, especially the unique experience under the pandemic during this academic year. Their ideas gradually came into a tangible modality from an original scratch, and constantly collided with new concepts in the continuous reflection, exploration, experiment, comparison and resolution of life.

Diverse ideas are interwoven and shared together on “On the Grid”, not simply the “grid” alone. Artists creatively applied their concepts to different types of media to explore the large variety of artistic possibilities in the field of art.

[350136
373317,373495
350138
["post-1334321","event","type-event","status-publish","hentry","location_type-indoor-en","event_category-visual-arts-en","event_category-visual-arts-mixed-art-forms-en","area_type-local","search-detail
["GET
