After meeting at WONG&#8217;s 2018<br \/>\nsolo show at Gallery EXIT, the two Hong Kong<br \/>\nartists agreed to join forces. Soon, they came up<br \/>\nwith a plan: they would visit different places in the<br \/>\nterritory&#8217;s countryside together and afterwards<br \/>\npaint what they had seen on their excursions.<br \/>\nThe idea was inspired by a historical collaboration.<br \/>\nIn the summer of 1869, the French painters<br \/>\nClaude Monet and Pierre-Auguste Renoir decided<br \/>\nto travel to a place outside Paris to work alongside<br \/>\neach other. Their views of La Grenouill\u00e8re, a<br \/>\nfloating caf\u00e9 and popular bathing spot on the<br \/>\nriver Seine, are key works in the development of<br \/>\nthe impressionist style of painting.<br \/>\nSeen next to each other, YEUNG\u2019s chimeric<br \/>\ninventions and WONG\u2019s immersive landscapes<br \/>\nmake for a fascinating comparison.
