This is the summer when their brother Father Jack returns from Africa where he had been a priest at a leper colony. It is also the summer when Gerry Evans, Welsh peddler of dreams \u2013 gramophone salesman and sometime ballroom dancing teacher \u2013 returns to visit the sisters, one of whom he has had an illegitimate child with named Michael. The play is in fact Michael\u2019s story told by him, and remembering that particular summer when aged seven his father came to visit him and his aunties and when father Jack returned.
