This concert revisits works by emerging Composer Fellows from all previous seasons, alongside the Asian premiere of the chamber ensemble version of Deep Red by Artistic Director Bright Sheng, which features Plus Cheung, marimba soloist star. As with each season, IC reflects upon the work of standard repertoire composers. The programme concludes with Sheng conducting the string orchestra version of Schoenberg’s heart-wrenching work, Verkl\u00e4rte Nacht (Transfigured Night), based on a poem by Richard Dehmel, of devotion, hope and redemption through love.
