He was awarded the highest honours in both his native Britain and in France where he is based since the 1970s and established the Parisian company Theatre des Bouffes du Nord.<\/p>\n<p>Hailed as \u201cthe theatrical event of the century\u201d in 1985, the Mahabharata was a nine-hour epic based on the world\u2019s longest poem. Its compilation of myths, legends and folklore told the history of ancestral India, thrilling audiences around the world for four years.<\/p>\n<p>30 years on, Brook and his original collaborators return to The Mahabharata in this adaptation for contemporary audiences. With its multi-ethnic cast and based on the same greatest dramas and deepest struggles.
