Petipa is often cited as \u2018the father of classical ballet\u2019. His renowned Paquita sets the stage for a great mixed bill.<\/p>\n<p>Next comes the world premi\u00e8re of Bolero, set to Maurice Ravel\u2019s famous orchestral piece of the same name. Created by Yuh Egami and Ricky Hu, two of The Hong Kong Ballet\u2019s most talented dancers and choreographers, this will be a memorable d\u00e9but for the Company.<\/p>\n<p>Last, but by no means least, another highlight of the programme will be The Hong Kong Ballet\u2019s premi\u00e8re of Alexei Ratmansky\u2019s charming and fun one-act ballet, Le Carnaval des Animaux (The Carnival of the Animals). Ratmansky is an internationally acclaimed choreographer who is currently the Artist in Residence at American Ballet Theatre, New York.<\/p>\n<p>This challenging ballet will showcase the Company\u2019s seamless blend of vitality, technical precision and regal grace.
