Tales of East & West
Visual Arts

Description
Description
Yin Xin was born in 1959 in Kashgar, a remote Muslim town in western China and grew up in political exile in Urumqi near the Mongolian border. After the Cultural Revolution he started his formal art training and taught art but feeling stifled creatively, he left China in 1988 and in 1994, settled in Paris where he finally felt at home. Yet, his paintings are about China, set in the 19th and early 20th centuries, as though he lived in that era. His work shows his fascination with East-meets-West and portrays a timeless elegance.
This exhibition follows his last solo show in Connoisseur Art Gallery “Once Upon A Time in China”, and is made up of more than 20 paintings specially prepared over the past one over year.
