French pianist David Kadouch has collaborated with many leading orchestras and conductors, and has appeared at such festivals as Verbier, Klavier-Festival Ruhr and La Roque d’Anthéron. He also performs chamber music with acclaimed musicians including Michel Dalberto, Radovan Vlatković, Renaud and Gautier Capuçon, among others. In this concert, Kadouch will perform chamber and solo works written by four French composers of different styles, and share his musical insights with the audience. A renowned contemporary composer and active internationally as a conductor, Sir James MacMillan has established himself as one of the foremost composers of his generation. Drawing influences from his Scottish heritage, strong Catholic faith and social beliefs, MacMillan has attracted international attention for his compositions. Invited as a guest conductor by Hong Kong Sinfonietta, MacMillan will be making his Hong Kong début conducting the orchestra on 8 Sep at HK City Hall.

Few days before the concert, music-lovers will have a close-up encounter with Sir James at Tai Kwun alongside Hong Kong Sinfonietta Concertmaster James Cuddeford as they give invaluable insights into their musical experiences.

With pianist Colleen Lee, Hong Kong Sinfonietta Concertmaster James Cuddeford and Principal Clarinet Johnny Fong performing MacMillan’s chamber works that are rarely heard in HK, it will be a treat for the ears.
