Cinema 2.0 Media Art Exhibition: Surviving The Glass System Cum The 21st Ifva Awards – Media Art Category Finalist Exhibition
In the modern everyday life, even the tiniest action is under surveillance. From CCTV, GPS to the face detection function on Facebook, all latest technologies leave people in complete exposure, which could all be discussed in relation to cinema. ifva joins hand with art.ware again to curate the annual media art exhibition CINEMA 2.0 with the theme around the concept of surveillance, bringing works from international artists Julian Oliver (New Zealand/ Germany), Adam Harvey (USA) and Björn Schülke (Germany) to explore the seemingly unrelated connections between cinema and surveillance. Together with the finalists works of the 21st ifva Awards Media Art Category. These 10 media art pieces come from all over Asia including South Korea, China, Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong. The result of Media Art Category will be announced at the opening ceremony. Meet-the-Artist session will be held on the same day at 4:30pm.
