This interdisciplinary event utilizes the immersive characteristics of virtual reality (VR) to integrate sound, music, and media for a multimedia performance. The performance makes use of the complete surrounding virtual environment made available by VR technology and the stage acoustic setting of spatial audio to achieve a fully immersive experience. Audiences will be provided with a VR headset and directed to a 360-video YouTube link, which allows them to view the visual content through their smartphone. Other visual content will be projected on screen for the audience to recess during the long 360-degree immersive journey. The audiences will be guided to a virtual city tour to various representative landmarks in Hong Kong, with ambient sound and music artificially performed by iLOrk.
