The ever popular Hong Kong Synergy 24 Drum Competition is into its 13th year this year! This is an annual gala event eagerly anticipated by the local community, as the HKCO mingles with the public in an activity of roaring fun. There will be two sets of Synergy 24 routines in the challenge, and the participants will be giving their roaring interpretations with energy that exemplifies the go-getting spirit of the people of Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza will be a sea of drums, resounding with thundering drum beats executed with synchronized routines. The winning teams will have the opportunity to perform with the HKCO in concerts. So let the team spirit soar!

The 14th Hong Kong Synergy 24 Drum Competition
A champion challenge to creative drumming in an exciting annual gala The Hong Kong Synergy 24 Drum Competition, an annual event eagerly anticipated by the local community, is into its 14th season this year! In good old tradition, the HKCO invites drum enthusiasts from all over Hong Kong for a roaring champion challenge. Like before, there will be two sets of Synergy 24 routines, and participants are welcome to pepper them up with highly original choreographic moves. In particular, the Creative Presentation Section is open to all, so why not present your uniquely conceived versions of lion dance drumming, Japanese drums, African drums, etc.? Let energy spill over with every mallet hit you wield! The Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza will be a roaring sea of drums, bespeaking the indomitable spirit typical of the people of Hong Kong! The winning teams will have the opportunity to perform with the HKCO in the ‘Ode to Water’ concert in May, 2017.

The 15th Hong Kong Synergy 24 Drum Competition
The Hong Kong Synergy 24 Drum Competition, an annual cultural event and competition eagerly anticipated in Hong Kong, is into its 15th season this year! In line with our credo that ‘music is to be shared’, we are calling out to all drum enthusiasts to come together for a champion challenge that will turn the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza into a roaring, surging ocean of drumbeats. There will be two sets of Synergy 24 routines, and participants are welcome to pepper them up with highly original choreographic moves that will demonstrate the indomitable, go-getting spirit of the people of Hong Kong! There will also be different sections, some newly created this year, to cater to different ages, backgrounds and physical conditions since after all, the idea behind the Competition is to bring the community together for a fun activity! So let the robust drum beats roll!

The Drums of Hong Kong
Since its inauguration in 2003 as a rousing bounce-back for the Hong Kong community after the SARS outbreak, the Hong Kong Drum Festival has become a time-honoured tradition that drives percussion music to new heights. This year we have local drum maestro, Dr Lung Heung-wing and the Four Gig Heads to join us, and we will perform a new work for lion dance drums by Dr Mui Kwong-chiu. Hear us roar!

The 16th Hong Kong Synergy 24 Drum Competition – Primary School Section Final Round Competition
A mass conglomeration of drums will appear again at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre piazza coming October! For the 16th Hong Kong Synergy 24 Drum Competition, there will be a new category, the ‘lion dance drum’ as a tribute to the ‘Lion Rock’ solidarity of the people of Hong Kong. Drummers should be delighted to learn how to make their lions come alive with realistic expressions and feelings.
