Two local a cappella groups – VSing and Boonfaysau – will show music lovers the distinctive charm of the human voice. Though the two groups have not been established for long, they have already made a splash on the Asian stage. Boonfaysau won the overall championship at the Asian Cup A Cappella Competition at the 2018 Vocal Asia Festival, while VSing won the Gold Medal Prize at the Taiwan International Vocal Festival in the same year. This time, the two groups will join forces to showcase their talents. In this concert, the two groups will perform Canto-pop classics, reinterpret popular Asian folk tunes, revisit and rework classic hits, take a stab at K-pop, surprise with mashups and medleys, and last but not least, perform their original songs! They look to defamiliarise with their unique takes on the familiar, and to inject new energy into a cappella, an art form with hundreds of years of history.
