Modern Teenage Fables

What lessons can we learn from traditional fables and will they still resonate in a modern world? We look at stories such as The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Hansel and Gretel with fresh eyes, re-imagining them with 21st century sensibilities, set in a typical secondary school. Princes become jocks and magic mirrors are mobile phones as we create a new set of fables for today’s audiences.

After a long life of hard work on a farm, Chanter, the donkey, sets out for Bremen, a town where he wants to spend the rest of his life singing. Along the way he meets a dog, a cat, and a rooster who join him on his musical journey to Bremen. This musical tale will be retold by our Faust groups aged 6 to 7.
