Heart Momentum
“Heart Momentum” is a solo exhibition by Antoinette Rozan. She will share with the public ink paintings and sculptures in structures. The artist will present her new works made of different media: it will be a conversation between her paintings and her sculptures. From illusion to reality, from mind to heart, from separation to unity, from stagnation to movement.

Resonance
The exhibition Resonances curated by Galina Coulot from ACG HK, features two Hong Kong-based French artists: Gaud, sculptor and painter and Jean-Yves Coulot, photographer. Their French sensitivities explore human beings through sculpture and photography, with a highlight on Hong Kong and Asian people. Based on the sculptural interpretation of a character captured by the camera, this exhibition tells about individuals seen as unique, yet sharing the common roots of humankind. This is a wonderful opportunity to appreciate French fine art and explore possible interactions between photography and sculpture, bringing together new perspectives and emotions.

Almond Chu/ Cyril Delettre Dialogue – Art photography exhibition
French artist Cyril Delettre and Hong Kong artist Almond Chu are going to show their crossed point of perspectives towards Hong Kong through this duo exhibition. Almond is capturing a place which is like no other space in reality. Su Shu, the principal dancer in Hong Kong Dance company, is playing the fallen angel in this secret part of town in his photography. Meanwhile, Cyril likes to hunt the special light in town at night, when everybody goes to sleep except the night birds. You will be surprised with the unusual focus through the artists lens.

School of Nice From Pop Art to Happenings
The exhibition School of Nice — From Pop Art to Happenings, designed by the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MAMAC) in Nice, documents the last major art movements in post-war France and illustrates the city’s extraordinary contribution to the history of art in the 1960s–70s. The School(s) of Nice created its own version of Pop Art — even more radical and daring than in America. Artists in Nice pioneered the international Pop Art movement.

Between Light and Shade
In participation with Le French May Arts Festival 2018, Alisan is honored to hold a solo exhibition for the Chinese-born French painter Shan Weijun. While Shan has exhibited in France and China, this will be his first solo show in Hong Kong. Since 1991 Shan has studied and lived in Paris, developing a contemporary, signature style with the tools of Chinese ink practice. For his Hong Kong debut exhibition Between Light and Shade, Shan will be showcasing over twenty recent ink-and-wash depictions of French countryside scenery. The garden landscapes and suburban corners are rendered with muted softness in simple yet compound tones of gray, eloquently expressing the purity and tranquility of nature. Last year the Cultural Affairs Department of the French Consulate in Shanghai organized an exhibition of Shan Weijun’s work, and it is with great excitement we present his new collection during Le French May in Hong Kong.

Regards
Our work pays tribute to what would remain unknown if we did not pay attention to it. Our daily life is a constant and magnificent source of inspiration if we learn to look at the world around us with our heart: people we meet and love, the light on objects and landscapes, a smile on a face or a helping hand. And beyond these, the simple fact that life is fragile and more than ever needs to be protected and preserved.

The Cabinets of Curiosities. From the Natural Sciences to the Art of Nature
City University of Hong Kong (CityU) invites you on a journey through time and space into the world of mysterious discoveries that reveal European collectors’ fascination with exotic animals, plants, minerals and art objects unknown in the West until a few hundred years ago.
“The Cabinets of Curiosities. From the Natural Sciences to the Art of Nature. Collections from France and Hong Kong” exhibition from 25 May to 19 August is presented by CityU Exhibition Gallery in partnership with Le French May Arts Festival.
The event will introduce Hong Kong audiences to over 250 natural and artificial artefacts from 10 museums, galleries and private collections. Thanks to the exceptional generosity of La Maison Deyrolle, founded in 1831 and itself a living repository of the French cabinets, and of the Musée du Vivant – AgroParisTech, whose collections also date back to the early 19th Century, CityU is able to exhibit these collections for the first time in Hong Kong.
