Fun Ride with Big Bead Dancing Poems
Come dance along and sing a song with Bearded Grandpa under the moonlight!
Staring at the bright moon through the bedside window sill and peeking underneath their beds are a group of best friends – the Rice Sisters, Lil’ Hiking Shoes, Lil’ Red Packet, the Sewing Kit twins and Baby Goose. To their surprise, a giant writing brush calling himself the Bearded Grandpa descended from above, inviting them to join in on a time travel to Tang and Song Dyansties to visit Li Bai, Du Fu and all the greatest minds in Chinese poetry!
Come discover the shining and shimmering treasures in classical Chinese literature through an all-rounded performance featuring dancing, drama, poetry reading and music! This festive fusion by over 200 members of the Children’s and Youth Troupes is made possible given the support of Mr. Anthony Ho as the guest performer and other professional dancers from the Hong Kong Dance Company. All aboard – don’t miss such an adventurous ride!

Mulan
Shadow puppetry merges with ink-painting and multimedia to provide an IMAX-like experience
The classic tale of Mulan, a young Chinese woman who disguises herself as a man to courageously take the place of her aged father in the army, is captivatingly retold in this cutting-edge show merging shadow puppetry and cinematic animation. Hold your breath as Mulan and her majestic white tiger brave the life-or-death dangers of the battlefield. Be stirred by heartwarming scenes with her parents and animal friends.
Founded in 1960, the pioneering Shanghai Puppet Theatre has continuously sought to evolve and innovate, with its internationally renowned performances and many accolades demonstrating the success of the troupe’s far-sighted approach. In this award-winning production, the beauty and delicacy of the traditional art of shadow puppetry is highlighted by using multimedia and atmospheric ink-wash animation on a giant “screen” backdrop. Eye-catching and endearing, and definitely one to watch!

Do you think you are ready to see a piano fly?!
Dirk is having a hard time falling asleep. He is even ready to try using a grand piano as a bed. And to call on Fien and her soothing compositions to help him reach the land of nod. But what is happening now?! The world is spinning and both performers and piano are floating on high. In this super-inventive, topsy-turvy realm, everything is possible from a downpour of sheet music to a wacky merry-go-round for counting sheep and an astonishing aerial duet.
Circus artist Dirk Van Boxelaere and musician Fien Van Herwegen formed their playful and creative partnership in 2005, with the pair becoming firm favourites at festivals and theatres around the world. Here, without a word of dialogue, the duo deliver a humorous and heart-warming tale through magical melodies, dexterous tumbling and juggling and gasp-inspiring technical feats. Prepare to be intrigued and amazed!

Air Play
A surreal aerial spectacular to enchant all ages
In this whimsical tale of two siblings on an absurdly funny journey, there’s also a fresh way to think about the air we breathe and its amazing capabilities. Wind power is harnessed to send ordinary objects, such as umbrellas, up, up and away while filmy fabrics float on high, glitzy confetti dance and swirl in striking formations, and balloons are a constant source of fun.
Acrobuffos comprises Americans Seth Bloom and Christina Gelsone, an accomplished clown duo who have garnered international renown with their hilarious circus-style antics delivered in a unique street-performance style. The husband-andwife team have toured over 20 countries. In devising Air Play, the pair collaborated with acclaimed air sculptor Daniel Wurtzel whose work has taken centre stage at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, on Broadway, and at museums around the world. The resulting production is a picturesque poem with universal appeal. A delight to behold.

Ukulele Ohana Jam
ALOHA!!! Join our astonishing ukulele ambassadors, Herb Ohta Jr., Taimane and Chris Kamaka on a sonorous trip to a place they all call home… Hawaii!
Performing for the first time on stage together, these three generations of players will share their ukulele life journeys and individual style of playing, preserving and transforming the traditional music of Hawaii. Herb, son of legendary ukulele master “Ohta-san” and a master of jazz, R&B, Hawaiian, Latin and Brazilian, has garnered multiple accolades during his 28 years in the music business. Meanwhile, Taimane and her popular band, well established internet favourites with millions of views for their videos, will add her eclectic repertoire ranging from Bach to flamenco to tribal rhythms. Chill out also with Chris, who hails from a long line of ukulele luthiers and is renowned for his velvet voice and bass playing.
This vibrant ohana (family) will be joined in Hong Kong by enchanting hula dancers Brittany Waihili’ Okalani Atiburcio and Delys Hulali Recca.
Bring your ukulele for a grand finale jam in celebration of the happy and magical four-stringed instrument known as the “UKULELE”!

Rain
A stimulating encounter for babes in arms and crawlers to hear, see and touch the arts
Drip-drip-drip, tap-tap-tap… Walk through gauzy fabric “drizzle” bathed in soothing lighting as you carry your baby into the wondrous world of Rain. Then let a trio of performers gently introduce you and your little one to a magical, multi-sensory space. Here, large fluffy raindrops and cushioned puddles meet a mellow cello, mellifluous vocals, and percussive rhythms, and the very, very young can freely “sing along” and interact with the imaginative environment.
This dreamy Australian collaboration between Drop Bear Theatre and installation artists from The SEAM is specifically designed to initiate those up to 18 months in the joys of the arts. Through an emergent creative process combining art therapy techniques, drama, and music, the delightful show they deliver does just that. First performed in 2013 and deluged with acclaim at festivals across Australia, Rain generates an entrancing moment in time for parents and children to share. It has been performed at ArtPlay and Castlemaine State Festival, Victoria, Out of the Box Festival, Brisbane, and Awesome Festival, Perth.
This show was created specifically for babes in arms and crawlers. Parts of the installation are not suitable for walking babies.

B Free
A collaboration between Hong Kong and Finland first dance performance designed for toddlers under the age of 2.5 in Hong Kong
B Free is the result of a three-year collaboration between CCDC Dance Centre and Dance Theatre Auraco, a renowned children dance performance group in Finland.
B Free refers both to the baby’s freedom and being free. Without a story, text or language, dancers use movement and live music to communicate with the young audience, motivate them to move to the rhythm, and let them become performers. Parents are encouraged to interact with the music and their little ones, immerse themselves in the environment and enjoy the freedom of the performing arts.
