Reference articles of the Chinese Language curriculum are used as the starting point of the performance script. The content of the articles are played out in a theatrical format, based on the six elements of play put forward by Aristotle, i.e. character, plot, thought, diction, spectacle and music. As students comprehend the articles, the process would involve more than just the traditional one-way teaching by teachers. Instead, students would be able to make use of their imagination in drama creation, picturing the image of the characters in their mind, or even break away from the shackles of time and space, turning mundane reality into a realm of beauty and surrealism, which in turn could bring new interpretation and meaning to the original texts.

According to the concept “From Page to Stage” believed by Prospects Theatre, the finale stage production is essential. Students could experience the charisma of theatre and learn about team spirit, which are beneficial to the development of the youth. Participating students in this project will each get three performance opportunities: in-school, for the community and at the finale performance.

After a year-long theatre training with the adopted script of “The Tempest”, students are going to share their learning outcome with the public.

The performance will mainly comprise group performances, including group demonstrations of martial art, singing Xiaoqu (folk music) and a new Cantonese Opera for children, Children’s Love, which is newly written by Ms Leung Sum-yee. The main axis of the story of Children’s Love is placed on the virtues of filial piety, love the neighbour and helping each other. A new story is written with the themes to promote benevolence, love, filial piety and loyalty of the world.

Articles selected for the secondary school group are Retreating Figure by Zhu Ziqing, The Most Bitter and the Most Joyful by Liang Qichao. Articles selected for the primary school group include Junior Environmental Pioneers, The Trial of Judge Bao and the Stone, and Alice in Wonderland, etc. There will be three primary, two secondary and two special schools participating in the finale performance.

After a year-long intensive musical training, over 100 students from 7 primary and secondary
schools will share their learning efforts with the audience by presenting two full-length musicals and a series of Broadway musical numbers in the finale performance

After a year training of HipHop or Jazz Dance, each participating school will perform the dance with stage lighting and music. The students will perform on stage and share their achievements with the public.

After a year-long literature theatre training, students are going to share their learning outcome with the public. A sharing session will be set after each school’s performance where participating students could share with the audience their creation process and performing experience. There will be three primary and two special schools participating in the finale performance.

Drums in Move Drumming in Practice Project aims to encourage students to appreciate the unique features of drum line and drumset regarding their culture, history and unique technique. The project emphasis not only musical abilities but also team spirit, discipline and physical training, nurture the spirit of collaboration. Apart from the music and rhythm training, choreographer guides students to use body gesture, movement to create a unique performance style on stage. There will be four primary and three secondary schools students participating in the finale performance to share their learning outcomes with the public.
