Commenced as a collective performance, hundreds of people blow their Qi (energy) into balloons which are then transported 2,000 km away to rural Yunnan. During the ten day voyage, the Artist uses this absurd happening of ‘Transporting Qi’ to provoke people – that turns into a subject of occasions, conversation, participation, collection and at times illusion. At destination in Yuanyang , village children receive the Qi and enact another performance of its release from the balloons. Photographs, video and writings are used for documenting this voyage.
