SENTIDO Flamenco HK

SENTIDO Flamenco HK is a flamenco cuadro (song and dance group) formed in 2016 by Hong Kong flamenco aficionados (ethusiasts).

A flamenco cuadro principally consists of cante (singing), guitar, baile (dancing), and palmas (hand clapping). Since SENTIDO Flamenco HK is the first of this kind of flamenco group comprised of members who were primarily trained in Hong Kong, it is truly a flamenco cuadro made in Hong Kong. The group’s name was chosen to draw from the Spanish word sentido, a flamenco ‘sense’ pursued by all flamenco artists. It is also an acronym that expresses SENTIDO Flamenco HK’s philosophies.

SENTIDO Flamenco HK advocates sincerity, integrity, as well as regular study and research in pursuit of excellence. Under close guidance by professional flamenco advisors, the cuadro endeavors to create and generate its own flamenco materials and works. In 2016, members of SENTIDO Flamenco HK participated in Reflexión – A celebration of a 10-year love affair with flamenco, the first flamenco song and dance performance created and conceived by Hong Kong flamenco students.
