Musicphilic Winds
Based on the fact that there are more and more alumni bands and youth bands in Hong Kong, many adult musicians with independent backgrounds may not find a suitable band to play in. Musicphilic Winds was established as a community band in September 2008, which aims at providing an open, independent and background-free music-making place for such musicians.
Musicphilic Winds has performed in various occasions, including shopping mall shows. The band host an exchange programme with Republic Polytechnic Wind Symphony from Singapore in February 2009, and then performed in Hong Kong Band Fair 2009. Following the Premiere Concert successfully held in December 2009, Musicphilic Winds host an indoor concert in June 2010 and an annual concert in January 2011. They also performed in Hong Kong International Band Fair 2011. In November 2011, they host a wonderful annual concert along with Double Mallet Ringers, a handbell choir, as a guest performer. They continue to receive recognition from large local audiences with the success of annual concerts held in November 2012, December 2013 and January 2015, and a well-acclaimed performance in Hong Kong International Band Fair 2013.
