Haw Par Music Foundation

Introduction

Haw Par Music Foundation Limited is a newly formed not-for-profit educational organisation. We envision to serve a dual purpose: to provide a cultural environment for the people of Hong Kong to study Western and Chinese music as well as to conserve the unique Haw Par Mansion as a heritage landmark open to the public.

Under the HKSAR Government’s Revitalising Historic Buildings through Partnership Scheme, the 3-storey Haw Par Mansion, a historic building in 1930s eclectic architectural style, will be revitalised to become the main site of Haw Par Music Farm, a proposed music and social initiative, in 2017. While the fully revitalised building will only be ready some years later, HPMF strives to create a shared vision with the society as well as to develop a series of inspiring programs commencing from 2014.

Hence, a three-year summer music education project called Standard Chartered Hong Kong 150th Anniversary Community Foundation Haw Par SummerFest is ramping up to activate our pre-opening mission. Haw Par SummerFest aims to provide opportunities to students to enjoy a quality music education. The Second Haw Par SummerFest will take place in July and August, 2015.
