Hamilton Children’s Choir [Canada]
The Choir consistently dazzles audiences with flexible and focused choral tone, masterful interpretations of challenging repertoire, and a captivating and authentic stage presence. Celebrating 44 years of choral singing, the Choir family has grown to include 6 choral groups and more than 200 young singers from ages 3 to 18.
The Choir’s touring ensemble, Ilumini, has collaborated with other singers and shared their passion for choral music across North America, Europe, and Asia. Notable accomplishments include performing as a showcase choir for the IFCM World Symposium (South Korea, 2014), for the Polyfollia biennial choral showcase (France, 2014), and for “Songbridge” Festival (Poland, 2008); the 1st Xinghai International Choir Championships, Guangzhou, China Grand Prize (2012); European Broadcasting Union “Let the People Sing” Euroradio Choral Competition First Place (Norway, 2009); and the Audience Choice Award and a Second Place in Children’s Choir category at Tolosa International Choral Competition (Spain, 2006).
Under the artistic direction of internationally acclaimed Zimfira Poloz and her team of artistic staff, the Choir is dedicated to exploring fresh approaches to choral music that reduce barriers, strengthen the choral artform and demonstrate that “excellence has no age”.
