Having discovered their stepmother Saam-chun’s affair with Tin Wong, siblings Li Kwai-gi and Bo-tung have no choice but leave the house. When Kwai-gi’s father Li Ki comes home from horse selling, he asks the maid Chun-fa the whereabouts of his children but in vain. What is more, Chun-fa is later found dead, which is used by Saam-chun and Tin Wong who accuse Li Ki of attempting to rape Chun-fa and causing her death. They even bribe the county magistrate to sentence Li Ki to death.
But who knows that Kwai-gi will be adopted by Lau’s family and later married to the magistrate of Baocheng County, Chiu Chung? And when she hears of her father’s imprisonment, she is determined to rescue her father, with a bit of wit and the help of her husband…
