The Sound of Religion – past and present – Travel the time of music, pursue the classic and contemporary religious music
In this year’s annual concert, Hong Kong City Youth Choir will lead the audience to travel the time of music. We are delighted to present a classic collection of majestic sacred choral music eulogised throughout different eras of music: from the solemn Gregorian Chants in the Middle Ages, to Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring by Bach from the Baroque Period in the 17th Century; from the “Hallelujah Chorus” in Handel’s great oratorio Messiah from the Classical Period in the 18th Century, to Ave verum corpus, the best-known motet by Mozart, to contemporary religious pop songs. Are you ready to join our journey to pursue and unravel the timeless influences of religious music in the long standing history of music?
