Description
The Emperor Jiajing of the Ming Dynasty indulges in Taoist practices and life with his harem, leaving all court matters to his ministers and eunuchs. Yan Song, the Grand Secretary, is corrupt, greedy and makes life miserable for the people with the taxes and levies he imposes.
Hai Rui, the Imperial Censor and an upright man, makes ten court submissions to impeach Yan Song.
