Time has come: the dream-chasers at the Chinese University of Hong Kong Chorus will now sing to you a dream in Chinese music. – Jan Tien-hao The phenomenal Taiwanese composer Jan Tien-hao •Director of Perfect Match Theatre, Contributing composer for Taipei Philharmonic Chorus and Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Music of Shih Chien University •Personal catalog includes compositions and arrangements for choruses, totaling over 100 published works since 1994 •Apart from composing for choral music, he is also an accomplished composer for symphonic music and is one of the most prominent composers for Chinese musicals in Taiwan Taiwanese composer Jan Tien-hao is no stranger to the Chinese choral community. His signature blend of words and music, surrounded by an aura of innocence and honesty, is rare among contemporary Chinese choral repertoire. With a careful selection of music, CU Chorus presents The Music of Jan Tien-hao with a dash of freshness from the pearl island. Dream Catcher, Jan’s world premiere commissioned for the CU Chorus, will be performed, allowing the audience to depict Dai Wangshu’s writing through Jan’s musical inspiration.
