The Legend And The Hero
Dance

Description
Description
Qu Yuan, the patriotic poet and minister in the state of Chu during the Warring States Period who drowned himself in the Miluo River to show his loyalty to his king, is reincarnated on the brightly lit stage, and made a “god” with a 21st century audience bearing witness. Featuring CCDC dancers and a strong production team, the work will conjure up historical figures through abstract movements and original music. Drawing on passages from classic poems such as Li Sao (The Lament), Asking Heaven and Nine Songs, the piece is an elegy on intellectuals dying bitter and misunderstood in corrupt times undermonarchic rule.
