The Hero’s Blood On Mount Pipa

Description

Description

Guan Dapeng is commander of the troops at Shanhai Pass. Guan has two sons: the elder, Wenhu, is willful and arrogant while the younger, Wenju, is patriotic and respectful to his father. To show off his bravery, Wenhu volunteers to attack the Hun troops. Confident in his martial skills, he charges at the enemy’s formation, but his troops are wiped out. Wenhu takes off his armor and feigns his death. Arriving with reinforcements, his father and his brother consider Wenhu dead. Obeying his father’s orders, Wenjumarries his brother’s lover, Xiaoju, to ensure that she is looked after.

The next year, at the banquet celebrating the birth of their baby boy when he is one month old, Wenhuappears and tries to take Xiaoju away. Just then, an imperial envoy arrives and announces that Wenju has been promoted to general in place of his brother. Wenhu is so enraged that he tries to attack his parents and brother. The elder brother threatens that he and his gang will destroy the house the next day if Wenjudoes not give up the post and his wife.

The following day, true to his word, Wenhu returns in fury with a sword in hand and, in desperation, chasesXiaoju in an attempt to kill her. Fortunately, the others arrive just in time and stop him. Wenhu thenchallenges Wenju to duel on Mount Pipa. As they are fighting, a Hun general launches an attack, vowing to kill Wenju. Wenhu is wounded by a spear as he tries to protect his younger brother. Before his death,Wenhu repents his past misdeeds, and the family returns home in sorrow.
