New Gallery on Old Bailey is pleased to present its 2011 summer group show, running from July 19 through September 10, 2011.
This summer-long exhibition celebrates the diversity of contemporary art by presenting the best of the featured Chinese artists. It brings together a survey of paintings by gallery’s resident artists Guan Hong Chen, Liu Jiu Tong, Lei Zhen Hua and Wu Jun, each with their own unique style of expression and characteristic.
We will also showcase the glass works of local artists Debe Sham and Orizzonte Li. The duo- artist, young graduate of the Baptist University, explores the ambiguity of local cultures and social relations through their glass works. They as well seek to promote the regional glass industry to different markets by exhibiting global technologies in their masterpieces. Hands and technical skills nurture genuine glassworks of the glassmakers. Both artists were hooked on the beauty of glass art and its endless possibilities.
Both local artists are constantly exploring the techniques and challenges of glass and act as an active participant in the growing glass movement.
