Description
Eco-huqin ensembles to celebrate the art of bowed-string chamber musicThe Eco-huqin series developed by the HKCO has now a proven track record of success and open endorsements. The quartet made up of the four huqin principals of the Orchestra won rave response at the Singapore Huayi – Chinese Festival of Arts 2013 performing on these instruments, and in the last two seasons, the two quartets made up of huqin virtuosi of the Orchestra, Bravura Strings and 3+1, have made their brilliant debuts and proved their mettle. This concert therefore features an all-bowed-string programme performed by ensembles in different configurations. The huqin is world famous for its human-voice qualities and mellifluous tones that appeal to all tastes. It would be doubly charming in this ecologically developed version – so stay tuned.
