The Impressionist movement originated in France, inspired many art masters such as Degas, Monet, Renoir, Gauguin – who translated their sensory experience of the natural world into masterpieces of paint and canvas. Beyond the realm of the visual, Debussy, Ravel, Fauré, and the ones that followed them were inspired to paint with music like their painter compatriots. Echoing one another with tone-painting techniques, they forged new realms of compositional style that would influence generations to come.
So French is a two-part conceptual concert – French Impressions and French Legacy. The traditional chamber concert comes to a breakthrough this time, combining visual and audio. Music Lab artists are ready to lighten your world, showing their boundless imagination.
So French – French Impressions is a tribute to the various genres in which the composers and the painters echo each other in different mediums. The concert sets in the category of Poeme, Valse, Phenome, Reves and L’abstrait – just as how the artists used to perceive.
