MOZART:The Abduction from the Seraglio Overture
STRAVINSKY:Violin Concerto
RACHMANINOV:Symphony no. 2

The 2018/19 season marks the 45th anniversary of the HK Phil and it opens with two Russian masterpieces – Stravinsky’s fierce Violin Concerto and Rachmaninov’s hauntingly beautiful Second Symphony. Former prodigy violinist Leila Josefowicz is famed for her in-depth understanding of 20th-century and contemporary music, including Stravinsky’s works. Under the baton of Jaap, the orchestra takes to the stage for Rachmaninov’s Second Symphony, considered by many as the most romantic of all time.
