“When it comes to classical music, no matter whether you’re a purist or a duffer, you’ll love Salut Salon.” – Süddeutsche Zeitung
“Too bad, that this artistic and amusing evening had to end after just two hours. The wildly applauding audience would have gladly stayed to listen longer.” – Frankfurter Rundschau
The Salut Salon quartet, Angelika Bachmann (violin), Meta Hüper (violin and vocal), Olga Shkrygunova (piano) and Sonja Lena Schmid (cello), know better than any other chamber music ensemble how to seduce their audience with passionate virtuosity, instrumental acrobatics, charm and a great sense of fun. They combine whatever can possibly be combined with their beloved classical music: tango, chansons, folk and film soundtrack – with virtuosic solos, cabaret-style show with artistic sketches, all with effortless flair. Salut Salon performs far beyond what concert-goer would expect of a conventional chamber music concert, take aficionados of this genre by surprise and those who would otherwise never go to a classical concert, too.
During their tour in France in 2016, Le Figaro praised Salut Salon as “the most unusual and hilarious women’s quartet in the realm of classical music.” New York Times also reported on the kick-off of the five-week US tour in New York calling their YouTube hit “Competitive Foursome” (which now boasts more than 21 million views) “a masterpiece of classic comedy”.
