Romantic Piano Music From The North: Grieg And Sibelius

Description

Description

Romantic piano music from the North! Hong Kong based Finland educated pianist Dr. Rong Qin together with her Finnish tutor Prof. Erik T. Tawastjerna offered an emotional concert at the Academy for Performing Arts on Oct 2, concluding their successful tour on the mainland and Hong Kong. Norwegian Edvard Grieg and Finnish Jean Sibelius were the northern romantic composers of the night. To celebrate Sibelius’ 150th anniversary year Prof. Tawastjerna played ‘Finlandia’ and together with Dr. Qin they performed ‘Valse triste’ – probably the two of the most known and beloved pieces by the Finnish national composer.
