Rodgers & Hammerstein on Stage and Screen

Description

Description

Unforgettable songs from the best-loved Rodgers & Hammerstein musicals, including The Sound of Music, The King and I, South Pacific and many more

This concert that has it all – immortal songs, famous films projected onscreen, a Broadway star, a great conductor and a superb orchestra!

With the help of modern technology, audiences will hear the HK Phil accompanying the voices of the original movie stars as they sing hits from Rodgers & Hammerstein’s favourite film musicals, including Oklahoma!, Carousel, South Pacific, and The King and I, while the original scenes from the movies are projected on the Concert Hall’s big screens.

Other songs from Carousel, The King and I, South Pacific and The Sound of Music will come to life onstage, with Broadway and concert star Lisa Vroman, The Hong Kong Children’s Choir and the HK Phil. The entire concert is conducted by the incomparable Primetime Emmy-Award Winner George Daugherty, and is produced by Mr Daugherty and David Ka Lik Wong, the Emmy-award winning team behind Bugs Bunny at the Symphony.
