This concert features innovative portrayals of dreams. Written at the turn of th century, Debussy’s impressionistic Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun had a profound impact which extended over a century across the continents and deeply inspired Japanese composers Takemitsu and Yoshimatsu. Takemitsu’s double piano concerto Quotation of Dream brings together Jun Markl, one of the finest French music interpreters, and Duo Ping and Ting, the laureate of the prestigious ARD International Music Competition.
