In 2003, to celebrate its 25th anniversary, the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra organized a global selection of ‘Golden Chinese Classics of the Century’ together with RTHK,eight major orchestras from the Mainland, Taiwan and Singapore, and music fans from all over the world. The result was an honour roll of ‘The Most Popular Chinese Musical Works of the 20th Century’. As a revival, Rupert Woo Pak Tuen, runner-up in the Second International Conducting Competition for Chinese Music, will conduct the HKCO and the Hong Kong Young Chinese Orchestra to present to the audience today those first shortlisted works.
