Description
Description
Touring internationally since 2008, Play Me, I’m Yours is an artwork by artist Luke Jerram. More than 1,400 street pianos will have been installed in 47 cities across the globe, bearing the simple invitation ‘Play Me, I’m Yours.’ The project has already reached more than eight million people worldwide.
This year, PMQ Management Co. Ltd (PMQ) and Our Hong Kong Foundation (OHKF) present “Our Hong Kong, Our Talents – Play Me, I’m Yours” with the aim of connecting people with street pianos. Starting from mid-August 16 street pianos, artistically transformed by local artists, designers and community groups, will be located in selected public areas around Hong Kong. Everyone is invited to play and enjoy the pianos, and to share happiness through music in the community.
The stars of the project – 16 pianos were designed by local artists featuring the many distinctive elements of Hong Kong. One of the piano fuses the Western instrument with traditional Chinese opera, showcasing Hong Kong’s cosmopolitan characteristics. Other designs feature traditional food stalls, street bills, the concrete jungle, and many others each expressing a story of Hong Kong.
“Our Hong Kong, Our Talents – Play Me, I’m Yours” hopes to bring about a little music, a little art, a little elegance, and a little interaction to the people of Hong Kong. Feel free to share your comments and photos as well as hashtag #playmeimyours!
