Description

Stacey Yang moved to Australia from Dalian, China in 2001. She completed both her Bachelor of Medical Science and Master of Nursing degrees at the University of Sydney. She studied the organ with Kurt Ison and Jennifer Chou for years and was awarded the LTCL in organ performance. She had lessons with internationally renowned organists such as Jean-Baptiste Robin (Versailles), Colin Andrews, Peter Van de Velde, Luc Ponet, Chelsea Chen and Isabelle Demers. Yang is now pursuing her Master of Music degree in organ performance under the tutelage of Professor David Higgs at the prestigious Eastman School of Music in Rochester, the United States of America.

As an organ recitalist, Yang performed at the most prestigious venues in Australia including Sydney Opera House, Christ Church St. Laurence, St. Andrew’s Cathedral, St. James’, King Street, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Melbourne and Christ Church Cathedral, Newcastle. In Europe, she gave her debut recitals at the Market Church in Wiesbaden, Germany and the St. Martin’s Cathedral in Belgium. As a carillonist, Yang performed at the National Carillon in Canberra, the University of Sydney Carillon, the Market Church in Wiesbaden, the University of Leuven’s Library Tower and St. Rumbold’s Cathedral in Belgium. She is also an avid chamber musician having regularly played the piano with professional level trios and singers.

Yang served as organ scholar of the University of Sydney, organist of St. Anne’s Anglican Church, Strathfield and chapel organist of SCEGGS Darlinghurst in Sydney. She is currently organist of St. Peter’s Anglican Church in Cremorne, honorary carillonist of the University of Sydney and private piano tutor at MLC School in Burwood, Australia.
