Ode To Joy – 1 & 9

Description

Description

Beethoven’s first and last symphonies in the hands of Jaap van Zweden. A journeyman composer breaking through beyond Classicism, and then at the end of his career, re-defining music forever. Don’t miss Jaap’s Beethoven 9. ;Please note the following change of artist for tonight’s performance (4 & 5-12-2015,both performances). The soprano soloist has withdrawn from this concert, owing to ill health. We are grateful that soprano Zhou Yuqian, from the NCPA Chorus Beijing, has kindly agreed to step in and sing the part, at late notice.
