Description
It’s once again the time for the family reunion dinner. Dispersed members of the clan are coming back to their childhood home to see each other. Yet, the atmosphere of this year differs much from that of the past. As senior members of the family hastily passed away, grudges and secrets hidden under the table are once again stirred up: orphaned children are slowly breading down emotionally, supportive siblings are revealing their mutual envy, the next generation cannot wait to leave home at the earliest opportunity, money disputes are brought up evasively… The audience should be quite familiar with these archetypal family tensions – they do not only take place in real life but are also played repeatedly in prime time dramas. Yet, our story begins from a lonely and desiccated place filled with sand. When wine glassed clink, when they story flows between the gap of confusion and reality, when the distance is only as long as a dinner table, family members who should be the closest and dearest seem so distant, so estranged…
