Over 110 top young American musicians have been chosen by Carnegie Hall to form the third annual National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America (NYO-USA). Virtuoso conductor Charles Dutoit and acclaimed pianist YUNDI will team up with the outstanding ensemble to perform in New York before embarking on a historic first tour to China this summer. The visit includes performances in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong.;Dutoit, Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of London’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Conductor Laureate of the Philadelphia Orchestra, is renowned for his polished style in conducting the world’s greatest orchestras and soloists. Hailed as the “Prince of the Piano”, YUNDI is not only a celebrated exponent of Chopin’s music, but also a remarkable Beethoven interpreter. Another highlight will be a new commissioned work by award-winning composer Tan Dun. Brought together with the effervescent NYO-USA, this unparalleled combination of talent is set to deliver a truly mesmerising concert for all ages.
