Mythologies: Surrealism and Beyond — Masterpieces from Centre Pompidou

Description

Description

Surrealism is a time full of bizarre and dreamy imagery with unsettling juxtapositions. As a programme of The French May Arts Festival, the Hong Kong Museum of Art joins hands with the Centre Pompidou to showcase over 100 diversified art pieces and archive material which explore the Surrealist world by theming this influential art movement and its associations with mythologies. Works by significant artists like Giorgio de Chirico, Salvador Dalí, René Magritte, Joan Miró, Max Ernst, Man Ray and Jackson Pollock will be featured to show the diffusion of Surrealists at international level, as well as an inclusive picture of the movement development.
