Local musicians lead fun participatory musical jam sessions on upcycled instruments for children at the Art Park
On 25 December 2021 (Saturday), bring your children to the West Kowloon Art Park and join young local musicians Tim Chan, Wilson Chau, Vonald Chow and Albert Lau in a fun musical jam!
During the afternoon, the musicians lead three 60-minute participatory sessions. Each session begins with a demonstration by conductor and percussionist Tim Chan, French horn player Wilson Chau and percussionists Vonald Chow and Albert Lau on upcycled percussive instruments. Participants then join the band to learn how to play a Christmas song on one of a variety of upcycled instruments – shakers, rain sticks, rattles and flat guiros made from everyday materials and natural items found in the Art Park.
If you would like to make your own upcycled instruments to play in our Christmas jam, join our series of family workshops in November and December. To learn more, visit the DIY Upcycled Musical Instruments event page.
