The Story
From the moment of his birth, audience celebrate Morgan the Clown’s birthday and open the presents with him, one of which is a simple sock puppet who becomes his companion. As audience follow his journey of self-discovery, they can help Morgan to overcome various difficulties. Complications begin when Morgan comes to believe that presents will make him happy forever. With the help of the puppet and audience, Morgan decides to leave behind his longing for ‘more’ and learns a valuable lesson about love, trust and friendship. It is a delightful exploration of joyous yet moving childhood experiences and is best for audience of ages 3 to 8.
Morgan’s Journey first presented in Canada in 1982 and won the Chalmer’s Canadian Play Award for ‘Outstanding Play’ in 1987. The play became the longest running touring play in Canadian history. It has been delighting children and their families across Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom for more than three decades. It has been called ‘a children’s classic’.
