Theatre Ronin’s latest play, “Memorandum: 10 Years. Han. Xiao”, marks another innovative production following on from “P.E. Period 2.0”. The play uses seven short stories selected from the works of three fiction writers – Hon Lai-chu’s “The Biting Crowd”, “A Chair” and “The Puppet”; Dorothy Tse’s “Holidays” and “A Journey”, and Lee Wai-yi’s “Merry Christmas” and “Granny Red Flower” – to create a 10 year snapshot in the history of a city. Wielding its metaphorical tool with theatre as a “sword”, Theatre Ronin transforms the written texts into literary music theatre, offering an evening of varied emotions in a new theatre experience blending live music, special stage effects and innovative performances.
