Artify Gallery presents Layered Dimensions, the first solo exhibition of Hong Kong photographer Veronica Lam. Lam uses photography to express the notion that appearance and surface may not reflect the truth within. Through her lens, she manipulates the captured subject, creating a different viewpoint, from which the audience is invited to interpretation by their own engagement.
Lam presents a two-part series, where the layering of images is crucial. The first section is showcased on double layers of glass in a three-dimensional boxed frame, complicating our perception of the picture. For the second part of this series, Lam lays gold leaf over the image, concealing the natural image underneath, thereby expressing the tensions between surface and layer.
In addition, Lam will collaborate with yoga instructor Delia Leung during the opening night, crafting beautiful lines through yoga poses interacting with her latest yoga photography. Leung will also lead a meditation session with Mindful Movement during the exhibition.
