Laisee – 10 Years of Koru Contemporary Art In Hong Kong

Description

Description

Celebrating Koru Contemporary Art’s ten years of exhibiting art in Hong Kong, this exhibition takes a stroll through our story and is a tribute to all the artists that the gallery has collaborated with over this time.

The giving of laisee is a long tradition in Chinese culture and is not a general giving of gifts, but a custom in which some people are givers and others recipients of small red packets. This gesture of giving is, at its core, done in a spirit of gratitude and it is this that is being captured and celebrated in this exhibition. It is a perfect way of acknowledging all the joy and hard work we have shared with the artists we have worked with, and the mounting of many exhibitions over this decade.
