Recognised as a child prodigy, Evgeny Kissin is one of the most acclaimed pianists of our time. He will perform Liszt’s first piano concerto, a piece famed for its incredible virtuosity and flair. Conductor Andris Poga will begin with Liszt’s Les Préludes , an early example of the new symphonic poem and finish with Richard Strauss’ Thus Spake Zarathustra 、 listeners will no doubt recognise the opening fanfare from the film, 2001: A Space Odyssey .
